Larimar is an extremely rare and exotic stone hidden only in the remote Sierra Bahoruco mountain range in the Dominican Republic.  An extinct volcano beholds this unique stone at depths of 300 ft. and within an area of only 1 sq. kilometer making Larimar the only blue volcanic stone in the world.

A local artist using the stone in his creations named it by combining his daughter's name, LARissa, with the spanish  word for sea, MAR.
